Frequently Asked Recuitment Questions

All our current vacancies across New Zealand are advertised on our careers page and we require all applications to be submitted online by following the steps at the end of the job advert.

Please remember to have your CV/resume handy when you apply, as you will be asked to attach it to your application.

Also, as part of our application process you will be asked some questions in relation to the job you have applied for – please take your time when you answer these as they are a great way for you to tell us a little more about you!

You should receive an email from us soon after applying acknowledging that we have received your application – if you don’t see this appear in your inbox, please check your spam folder as it could be there (this will have come from Chilli Factor, our recruitment system).

Next, someone in our Talent team will be in touch with you by either phone or email. We are committed to getting back to you as quickly as possible but for some of our roles, we receive a high volume of applications – we thank you in advance for your patience as we do our best to review these and get back to you as soon as we can!

Our processes are tailored to the different roles in the business, so the exact process you experience will depend on the role you’ve applied for with us. The process could include things like an interview (phone, video, in person or a group assessment day), online skills assessments, site tours, meet and greets with the team or even a piece of project work so you can show us your skills!

We believe that the recruitment process is a two-way street… whilst we are learning about you and understanding if you could be right for the role, it is also your opportunity to ask questions and understand if Griffin’s Snacks works for you too!

If your application is unsuccessful on this occasion, one of our Talent team will notify you via email. Due to the very high numbers of applications we often receive, in many cases we are unable to provide individual feedback on your application. However, if you attended an interview for a role at Griffin’s and have been unsuccessful, you can expect specific feedback after your interview.

If your initial application was successfully submitted, you would have received a confirmation email from our applicant tracking system, Chilli Factor.  If you haven’t seen this email in your inbox, please firstly check your spam mailbox in case it diverted there. If no sign of this in your spam either, you can email us at yourcareer@griffins.co.nz and we’ll look into it for you!

If your application was submitted correctly and you received the confirmation email, this means your application is safely with us and being reviewed by our team. We thank you in advance for your patience as we work through next steps, as often we receive large numbers of applications so this can take us a little while, but rest assured – we will always get back to you!

If successful following interview/assessment stage you will be required to undertake pre-employment checks, which may include all or some of the following;

  • Reference checks
  • Entitlement to work in New Zealand check
  • Criminal background check
  • Pre-employment medical check (only required for some roles/locations)
  • There may also be other specific checks required for certain roles, in which case you would be made aware of these as soon as possible if applicable (ie: credit check)
